People think success is a relative matter. It is all about putting your best and going on trying until you get the expected result. But, it is not always as we perceive. If you have ever experienced a rut, you know there is something behind putting your best or trying, again and again, to make success a common matter in your life.

Everyone desires to progress and prosperity in life and career. You have to learn about the art and science behind consistency. Consistency consists of three major components. These components are very elementary in nature; hence they should be just the way you need. Not all lives or environments are equal. So, the applicability of these key components related to consistency varies from individual to individual. You have to judge how much each of these components you need in your life to become consistent.

Understanding the three most important components of consistency

Every step that you take MATTERS

You take hundreds of steps or decisions throughout the day. It is a continuous process. Each step you take is important in your life. Understand whether these steps are actually fetching some values or just passing by. Take a moment to assess what matters most right now and whether you are living that moment. If not, your steps are leading to nowhere.

Ask “Why” and connect with your actions whenever necessary

This makes your progress towards your goal consistent. Ask yourself why am I doing this job or why am I taking this step or decision? Never deceive yourself. As you ask why and get the answer from inner-self, connect that with your current action. For example, if your current concern is your health and you are eating junk food, asking “why am I eating this” will directly connect you with your current goal. Once you make this your habit, you will never get distracted.

Test yourself with little disruption

This works wonders with your goal and success. Just test how much positive your attitude is or how much determined you are by disrupting your daily routine once in a while. Remember, consistency is a broader aspect of life; little disruptions are like sudden showers that come and go. If your steps and actions remain unmoved in spite of those disruptions, you are right on the track.

Reviewing your performance once a month keeps you updated regarding your progress. These monthly reviews are important to understand whether these above-mentioned three ingredients are working for you or need more attention. During a review time ask yourself the following questions:

  • What major success have I achieved in the past thirty days?
  • What was my position thirty days before and right now?
  • What was my direction thirty days before and right now?
  • Am I doing it right or there are better alternatives to make the process more efficient?

Conclusion

While consistency can’t be achieved too easily. It would take time, energy & effort to develop a plan for yourself. Used correctly, the discussed ingredients make you more productive and motivated. Your lifestyle, your work, your financials, all can pivot if you just be consistent with what you do on a daily basis. Remember, if you are consistent, success will never leave you.
